Counsel for Tamir Rice's family ask Attorney General Garland to reopen investigation into Timothy Loemann and Frank Garmback

Friday, April 16, 2021

Family requests reopening of investigation because of reported political interference under the last administration.

We, as counsel for the mother and family of Tamir Rice, have asked United States Attorney General Merrick Garland to reopen the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division's investigation into the conduct of the officers responsible for killing 12-year-old Tamir Rice in November 2014, because of Washington Post and New York Times reports that the last administration politically interfered with the investigation.

Our letter to Attorney General Garland explaining why the investigation should be reopened is linked here.
